Equipment and materials for vulcanizing joints
(1) Vulcanizer: The vulcanizer used for vulcanization joints must be qualified products with complete certifications (see Appendix 1 for the performance requirements of the vulcanizer). Vulcanization joints must use explosion-proof vulcanizers in places where there is a danger of gas and coal dust explosions, otherwise strict safety measures must be taken.
(2) Rubber material: rubber material includes covering rubber (surface rubber), core rubber and glue. In order to ensure the quality of vulcanized joints, the rubber material should generally be selected from the original belt factory designated rubber material. If rubbers from other factories are used, a vulcanized joint must be made in advance and sent to the authoritative department for tensile strength test, and it can be used only after it meets the requirements. The rubber material should be purchased from the manufacturer before using it in a new configuration. If the storage period is not more than three months, and it is stored properly (the temperature is below 25°, avoid direct sunlight, keep away from heat sources, and have no oil pollution), and there is no abnormal change in appearance, it can be used directly. If the storage period exceeds three months, it must be identified before use (see Appendix 2 for the identification of the rubber compound), and it can be used only after confirming that it has not expired.
